The bill aimed at facilitating the practice in France of doctors qualified in the United Kingdom who began their studies before Brexit was amended at first reading on Tuesday, 31 March 2026, and adopted by the Senate.
This new major step brings us closer to a concrete solution to help address medical deserts in France and strengthen access to healthcare across the country. The AMFB welcomes this important progress toward the fair recognition in France of UK medical qualifications for doctors who began their studies before Brexit.
The government has also initiated an accelerated procedure for this bill, and it continues its progress through the legislative process.
