Recognition of UK-qualified doctors: a step forward adopted by the National Assembly

On Monday, 16 February 2026, a bill aimed at facilitating the practice in France of doctors qualified in the United Kingdom was adopted by the National Assembly.
This development represents a concrete response to help address medical deserts in France and strengthen access to healthcare across the country. The AMFB welcomes this major step forward, which is the result of sustained efforts to ensure the fair recognition of British medical qualifications in France following Brexit.
The bill has now been submitted to the Senate for the continuation of the legislative process.
